About the Project
One of Australia’s largest ship loaders required a pair of drums for its luffing system, each 4.4 metres in diameter and 3.5 metres long. At that scale, machining to the required tolerances is a significant undertaking, with very few facilities equipped to handle components of this size. Beyond machining, the client needed a single supplier who could manage the full scope – fabrication, precision machining, painting and final assembly delivered as a complete turnkey package.
We fabricated, machined, painted and fully assembled both drums in-house, eliminating the need to coordinate across multiple suppliers. Our large-capacity machining capability allowed us to hold the required tolerances across the full 4.4-metre diameter, while managing the complete process under one roof ensured quality control and efficiency from start to finish.
Both drums were delivered as finished, ready-to-install assemblies. demonstrating our ability to handle the full lifecycle of large-scale engineered components, from raw fabrication through to final turnkey delivery.
