Large Industrial Pump Restoration

A showcase of our reverse-engineering capability, where we assisted with the restoration process by supporting the rebuild of a critical component, strengthening it beyond the original and helping the client avoid a costly full replacement.

About the Project

The Challenge

A large industrial pump critical to our client’s operations had reached the end of its service life. Replacing it wasn’t a straightforward option: the pump is no longer manufactured, making a like-for-like replacement unavailable. The client needed a restoration solution that would return the pump to full operational condition and deliver decades more service.

Our Solution

Working closely with the client, we restored the pump using a weld overlay to rebuild worn surfaces, followed by precision machining to bring all dimensions back to specification.

The Result

The pump was returned to service with a new lease on life, restored to full operational specification and expected to continue running reliably for decades to come. Rather than face the cost and complexity of sourcing a replacement for an obsolete unit, our client now has a proven restoration pathway that extends the life of vital equipment.
