About the Project
A 25-tonne gearbox casing had reached the point where its bores were worn, damaged and out of alignment. Refurbishing a casing of this size demands large-capacity machining equipment, skilled tradespeople and proven experience in gearbox restoration. The bores needed to be decked and re-bored back to original OEM specifications, with the precision required to ensure correct alignment for reassembly and return to service.
We decked and re-bored the 25-tonne casing back to original OEM dimensions. The work was handled by experienced tradespeople with a thorough understanding of gearbox geometry and the tolerances critical to reliable operation. With horizontal boring capacity to handle casings up to 80 tonnes, we have the equipment and expertise to take on gearbox refurbishments that most shops simply cannot accommodate.
The casing was delivered on time and restored to full OEM specification ready for reassembly and return to service. The project is a clear demonstration of our capacity for large-scale gearbox refurbishment, backed by the skilled tradespeople, proven processes and heavy machining capability needed to do the job right.
