About the Project
A dam gate for an iconic Australian scheme had failed and it was costing our client a significant amount of energy production each day it was out of action.
They needed a new gate fabricated, welded, machined, painted, assembled for FAT, stripped down and transported to site in record time and to stringent requirements, there was no room for compromise.
The project required unique material grades which could only be procured offshore, placing additional pressure on an already demanding lead time.
From day one, we worked as a unified team with the client and the contracted engineers reverse-engineering the existing gate.
Time was critical. At our own risk, we preemptively begun material testing and procurement before final drawings were released to ensure minimal time was lost. Manufacturing kicked off over the Christmas shut down period. We were dedicated to getting this job done!
Throughout the process, the entire assembly was maintained under 100% traceability, down to individual fasteners, ensuring full compliance with the project’s stringent quality requirements.
We successfully delivered a fully compliant replacement dam gate within the accelerated timeframe, enabling our client to continue their operations.
The gate was fabricated, precision-machined, coated, fully assembled for Factory Acceptance Testing, and delivered to site ready for installation. The finished product meet all technical, dimensional and quality requirements.
Despite offshore material constraints and stringent quality requirements, the project was completed without compromise. Every component was documented and and compiled into an MDR for the client giving them complete confidence in the asset.
Most importantly, the rapid turnaround significantly reduced downtime for our client and reinforced our capability to deliver under pressure.
