About the Project
The main mill at a major sugar mill was brought to a halt due to a failed output gear housed within the steam turbine gearbox. With few facilities capable of precision gear cutting and heat treatment, while also providing credible quality assurance, they urgently needed a trustworthy, technically precise, long-lasting solution. The replacement required the expertise to redesign and manufacture a new gear that could operate with a 6,000 RPM input speed and 1,500 RPM output speed.
Our engineering team immediately responded with a comprehensive solution. We manufactured precision-engineered gears to AGMA 12 specification with specific tolerances and improved material properties through specialised heat treatment processes. Quality control was maintained at every stage. Our project management team coordinated manufacturing and installation timelines with our partner, while extended working hours ensured we met the emergency deadline.
The remanufactured gear set was successfully delivered and installed, restoring operations at the sugar mill. This project demonstrates our ability to deliver emergency remanufacturing services without compromising on quality.
